A War Memorial for Cames
Large-scale textile installation design and construction, 2015
with camesGibson and Aura Venckuanite

Construction and design assistant for column installation in the entryway of the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts, in Chicago, Illinois. Referencing the history of quilting and handcraft of Gees Bend, a quilted column was constructed as an architectural monument.

The 2 ft x18ft foot column spanned two floors of the historic Madlener House and was entirely sewn and quilted by hand. Variations on traditional quilt designs, construction, and fabrics, with the architectural scale and dimensionality of the column form, explore the boundaries of craft, architecture, and monument.
